Our commitment

Solar PV Panels Ireland wants everyone to be able to use this website, including people who use screen readers, magnification, keyboard-only navigation, speech input or reduced-motion settings. Accessibility is treated as part of the build, not as a retro-fit.

Standard we aim for

This site has been built to conform with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA. We also have regard to the EN 301 549 harmonised European standard and to the obligations set out in the Disability Act 2005 and the European Union (Accessibility Requirements of Products and Services) Regulations 2023.

What we have done

Semantic HTML with one h1 per page and a logical heading order.
A visible skip link to the main content, and a keyboard-operable navigation menu including the county mega menu.
Visible focus indicators on every interactive element.
Text and interface colours checked against WCAG contrast ratios on the brand palette.
Descriptive alternative text on meaningful images, and empty alt attributes on decorative ones.
Form fields with persistent visible labels, not placeholder-only labels.
The interactive county map is duplicated as a plain text list of links, so nothing is available only by pointing at a shape.
Animation is disabled automatically for anyone whose device requests reduced motion.
Content reflows to 320 px width and remains usable at 200% zoom.

Known limitations

Some third-party content is outside our direct control. The embedded enquiry and quote forms are supplied by HubSpot, and embedded video is supplied by YouTube. We test these and report issues to the providers, but we cannot change their code. If a third-party element blocks you, contact us and we will take your enquiry by phone or email instead.

Older blog images may have shorter alternative text than we would now write. We review these as pages are updated.

Feedback and reporting a problem

If you meet a barrier on this site, please tell us. Email info@groundmountedsolarpanels.ie or phone 043 336 2004. Describe the page and what went wrong, and we will respond within five working days and give you the information you were looking for in a format you can use.

Enforcement

If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Ombudsman, or the National Disability Authority which monitors public sector accessibility in Ireland. We would rather fix the problem directly, so please do come to us first.
